Meet the Board
Open to the public, meetings of the Board of Library Trustees are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. unless rescheduled by the Trustees. Library trustees are elected by Oak Park voters for four-year terms. Get in touch at board@oppl.org.
From the bylaws: The Board of Trustees of the Oak Park Public Library is responsible for governance and overseeing the provision of library service to meet the needs of the Oak Park community. To this end, the board shall:
- Determine library policies.
- Employ a capable library administrator.
- Secure adequate funds for library operations.
- Approve expenditure of library funds.
- Provide and maintain adequate facilities.
- Insure a representative selection of library materials.
- Promote use of the library within the community.
- Perform other duties as outlined in Illinois Compiled Statutes.
April 9 election results
Four library trustees will be sworn in for new four-year terms before the regular May 21 meeting. Welcome returning trustees Bruce Samuels and Matthew Fruth, and new trustees Matt Baron and Winidred "Win" Fox. This page and photo will be updated after that meeting.
