One of the nation's best libraries is in Oak Park
In November 2012, we received the highly coveted 5-Star rating in Library Journal’s Index of Public Library Service. We also were ranked first in Illinois within our budget category. The 5-Star distinction was measured by service output for all Oak Park Public Library locations in four areas: circulation of collection materials, number of visits, program attendance, and Internet use. Whenever people ask me what's great about Oak Park, the Library is one of the first things I mention. Just walking into the building, knowing I'll find a great selection of books and films, friendly helpful staff and news about all sorts of upcoming programs and opportunities, gives me a lift. Maybe that's why I'm there - at both Maze and Main - so often!
