Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet

Join us at the Main Library as we talk about Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford on Wednesday from 1-2:30 pm in the Main Library's Second Floor Book Discussion Room.

12-year-old Chinese-American Henry Lee falls in love with a Japanese-American girl, Keiko Okabe, of his own age. They meet while they’re studying in Seattle during World War II, and are torn apart when the Okabes are shipped off to a distant internment camp. This engrossing novel deals with bullying, father-son estrangement, and the misery of the Japanese internment camps.

Copies of the book will be available at the Main Library a month before the discussion.
