Kids' Community Service Club
Climb into sleeping bags and feel what it’s like to sleep on a hard surface, create “no-sew” blankets and scarves to donate, and more. Our after-school community service club for kids kicks off at 3:30 pm Thursday, September 20 at the Main Library. Kids ages 3 to 12 will get an age-appropriate introduction to PADS, a local organization providing services to the homeless. This is the first in a series of free workshops highlighting local community service organizations. Families are encouraged to participate together. Learn more about the community service club › |

Celebrate the Freedom to Read!
Make a statement during Banned Books Week. We’ll take your mug shot (posed with your favorite banned book) and post you on our “most wanted” wall. Stop by the Main Library’s Idea Box October 1 through 7 to “get booked” and see other “dangerous readers” in your neighborhood. If you don’t have a banned book with you, we will have an ample supply to choose from! Read more about banned books on the American Library Association's website › |
