Friends of the Oak Park Public Library host their 44th Annual Book Fair Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2 at Oak Park and River Forest High School. Shop the fair Friday from 6 to 10 pm, with an admission cost of $5 per person (and $5 per electronic device), and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, with free admission. Current Friends members are admitted free on opening night. Become a member at any level now.
One of the largest in the area, the fair typically offers more than 100,000 books in every conceivable category, sorted for easy browsing and shopping.
Donation of books and more in sellable condition can be dropped directly at the Scoville entrance of the high school from July 18 through July 28. New volunteers are always welcome to help sort materials. Sorting hours will take place July 18 through 28. See the full schedule.
With funds raised, the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library help support programming like Fizz Boom Read summer reading program for kids birth through grade 6, and present free, engaging events including the annual Barbara Ballinger Lecture and a Folk Music Concert Series.
