Science journalist and best-selling author of Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything, Joshua Foer joined us live via video chat at a special 2014 One Book, One Oak Park closing celebration. He talked about about his experience exploring memory techniques while preparing for the 2006 U.S.A. Memory Championship, which he won, and answered Oak Parkers' questions, live.
One Book, One Oak Park featured Foer's Moonwalking with Einstein. Circulation statistics showed Moonwalking outpaced all other nonfiction books checked out at the library by 10:1. Executive Director David Seleb explained, “The fantastic circulation of our first One Book, One Oak Park title demonstrates that the people of Oak Park have welcomed the opportunity to read as a community. We are pleased to lead and facilitate this experience, to provide new ways for Oak Park community members to share and connect.”
