Library to receive $100,000 grantPublished on Mon, 04/07/2014 - 9:36am | Updated on Mon, 04/07/2014 - 2:18pm.
The library thanks Rep. La Shawn K. Ford (D-Chicago) for his support in introducing appropriations approved in 2013 by the Illinois General Assembly that grants $100,000 to the Oak Park Public Library for improvements in services. The funds, to be managed and distributed by the Illinois Library Association, a division of the Illinois Secretary of State’s office, will most likely be used for improvements in library services for Oak Park’s teen-age population.
“We thank Rep. Ford for his vision and foresight in introducing this legislation, which resulted in this generous appropriation,” said Executive Director David J. Seleb. “At the library, our next steps have already begun. We are investigating several possibilities on how to apply these funds in a way that best serves our community.”
