The library thanks Rep. La Shawn K. Ford (D-Chicago) for his support in introducing appropriations approved in 2013 by the Illinois General Assembly that grants $100,000 to the Oak Park Public Library for improvements in services. The funds will be managed and distributed by the Illinois State Library, a division of the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.

“We thank Rep. Ford for his vision and foresight in introducing this legislation, which resulted in this generous appropriation,” said Executive Director David J. Seleb. “At the library, our next steps have already begun," Seleb said, adding that the funds will most likely be used to create more dedicated spaces within the Main Library for engagement and learning.
