Art Institute with 'In Our Own Backyard'

Join us as we host In Our Own Backyard: Masterpieces of The Art Institute of Chicago at the Main Library, Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2 pm. Rediscover old favorites from the Old Masters to the museum's extensive Impressionist and Modern collections. Learn why The Art Institute, which houses more than 5,000 years of world-renowned art, has been at the center of Chicago culture from the late 19th Century to today.

A financial aid professional will be available to answer your questions and help you complete your FAFSA form at no charge Wednesday, Feb. 5. Celebrate Chinese New Year

Ring in the Year of the Horse with stories and crafts at all library locations. At Main Library, Jenny from Paper Lantern Language & Cultural Center will share stories in Mandarin, followed by a craft for kids ages 3-6 on Friday, Jan. 31. Both branch libraries welcome kids ages 4+ to create Chinese Lanterns. Register to join the fun at Maze Branch Wednesday, Jan. 29 or Dole Branch Friday, Jan. 31.
