Award-winning Main Library building celebrates 10 years

Join us tomorrow to celebrate!

Be our guest tomorrow, Oct. 5, for a full day of family-friendly events and a very special after-hours party at the Main Library. Enjoy daytime performances by story-performer Chris Fascione, musician Jim Gill, and a picnic with author and illustrator Eric Rohmann. At the branches, see Lizards, Turtles, Frogs and More! and a magic show by Gary Kantor. Registration required for both events.

Don't miss the after-hours party

The Main Library re-opens its doors at 7 pm for after-hours music, dancing, food and fun. Hear The Boogers play rock and roll for kids, and R-Gang perform R&B, funk, soul and Motown. Have a blast finding special and hidden spots in the library with our Instagram Scavenger Hunt. Appreciate the original work of 21 local artists in our second floor Art Gallery. We’ll have complimentary appetizers and sweets, plus a cash bar for beer and wine. It’s all free and open to everyone, so we hope to see you there!

This special day marks two major milestones: 10 years in the current Main Library building and 110 years as a public library in the Oak Park community. Learn more about our monthlong Anniversary celebration
