Frank Lloyd Wright and film

Three Sundays in November we present Wright Reels: The Taliesin Fellowship and Film. This unique series of feature-length and short films reveals the cinematic taste of Frank Lloyd Wright and his appreciation of film as an art form. Local filmmaker Risé Sanders-Weir will introduce each film. On Nov. 17, special guest Mariamne Whatley will speak about the Fellowship and her parents' experience there, as shared by her mother in the book Taliesin Diary: A Year with Frank Lloyd Wright. By popular demand, two more sessions will be held at the Main Library to share information about the federal Affordable Care Act and recently opened Health Insurance Marketplace. Presenters from the Chicago Federation of Labor Workers Assistance Committee return to review differences between policies and answer questions, helping you find a plan that fits your needs. School's out: reptiles & more

Dave DiNaso and his Traveling World of Reptiles visit the Main Library for a special "School's Out" Veterans Day program at 10:30 am Monday, Nov. 11. This up-close, hands-on experience introduces participants to reptiles and amphibians from around the world. Blending education and humor, this show is best for kids ages 3-12. Teen fall fun at all locations

Halloween week fun concludes with Humans vs. Zombies, an after-hours game of tag for teens at 7 pm Friday, Nov. 1. In this game of zombie apocalypse survival, teens can prevent the end of the world, or speed it along, by playing as a human or a zombie. Also in November, teens can craft, compete in a Hunger Games trivia contest, and express themselves at monthly Open Mic night, after-hours.
