How do I log in to my account?
Visit this page, or click the "Log In" button to the left.
How do I get a card?
Apply online to get a temporary card. This will allow you to immediately place up to three holds and access our online resources. You will have fourteen days to complete your registration by visiting the Library with your photo ID and proof of residency.
Visit the Main Library, Dole Branch Library or Maze Branch Library with a drivers’ license or state ID, and proof of Oak Park residency, such as a utility bill or other mail postmarked to your Oak Park address within the past three months.
How do I get a card for my child?
You and your child will need to visit the library together. Parents must sign the application form for children and teens under 18 and show proof of Oak Park residency.
Where can I use my card?
Oak Park library cards may be used at most libraries in Illinois. If visiting a library outside Oak Park and the SWAN consortium, ask if they are a state-wide reciprocal borrower. (Bring ID and your Oak Park Public Library card. Registration may be required on your first visit.) Be sure your account is clear of any fines.
Do I need to bring my card to the library?
Your library card number is needed to check out materials, use the self checkout, and to use a computer. Memorize your number, store it in your phone, or bring your card, whichever is most convenient.
What if I lose my card?
Please report a lost card immediately. We will mark it as lost, which protects you if it is misused. You may get a replacement card for $1.
How do I renew?
Library cards expire every three years. To renew your card, visit any Oak Park Public Library location with a photo ID.
What if I live outside Oak Park?
Anyone who has a valid Metropolitan Library System card, a Chicago Public Library card, or other Illinois library card may use our resources. Registration may be required on your first visit to the Oak Park Public Library. To receive full Oak Park benefits, patrons may purchase a card for an annual fee of $350.98.
