COULD I JUST PLEASE RESERVE A
JOANNE BOOTS (not verified) - Tue, 12/20/2011 - 2:19pmCOULD I JUST PLEASE RESERVE A BOOK
Hi Joanne,
anne slaughter - Tue, 12/20/2011 - 2:35pmHi Joanne,
Sure! In the left sidebar of every page of our website, you can start a search in the SWAN catalog by entering your search terms (title, author, subject, etc.) in the Search box and clicking "go," or you can click on the "Log In" button to go directly to your SWAN account log in. From there you can place your requests like you always have.
If you're looking for an item that's not in the SWAN catalog, you'll want to start at this page, or click the "Make A Request" link in the menu at the top of this page, to use our new interlibrary loan and purchase request system. You'll need to take an extra minute to create an account before placing your request, then you'll be able to track the progress of your request as it is processed and filled.
I hope this answers your question. If not, please feel free to contact me at aslaughter@oppl.org.
Collection Tab
Marc (not verified) - Sat, 12/24/2011 - 9:55amHow about a tab on the collections dropdown that would show the collection's latest acquisitions? Some of us can't get into the library as often as we'd like to check...
Thanks for the suggestion
anne slaughter - Mon, 12/26/2011 - 9:33amThanks for the suggestion Marc! The "New Materials" button at the top of this page will take you to lists of all new acquisitions for the previous month. We close our books for the year and don't do much ordering in December, so the next time we update those lists it will be with January acquisitions.
Staff Write ups
Ed (not verified) - Thu, 01/12/2012 - 3:27pmThe website used to have those great write-ups from staff available, as well as other fiction resources. Where are those now?
Fiction resources
anne slaughter - Mon, 01/16/2012 - 10:29amHi Ed,
Thanks for your comment. We want to provide the most useful resources on our website, as well as to do some new things, and we're working on the best way to do that. What fiction resources did you use the most on our old site? For now, you can find all that content at http://legacy.oppl.org.
check out movies
Angela Priestly (not verified) - Wed, 02/08/2012 - 10:59amHow do I see the current movies? How do you reserve movies?
find and reserve movies
sharon grimm - Wed, 02/08/2012 - 11:34amThe "New Materials" button at the top of this page will take you to lists of all new acquisitions for the previous month. We’re working on the January list right now – so watch for it by the end of the day! (We don't do much ordering in December, so that’s why November’s acquisitions are still up.)
To reserve a movie: In the left sidebar of every page of our website, you can start a catalog search by entering your search terms (title, author, subject, etc.) in the Search box and clicking "go." Then from within the catalog you can place your requests. You will need to log in to your account to complete the request.
If you're looking for an item that's not in the SWAN catalog, click the "Make A Request" link in the menu at the top of this page, to use our new interlibrary loan and purchase request system. You'll need to take an extra minute to create an account before placing your request, then you'll be able to track the progress of your request as it is processed and filled.
Please feel free to contact me at sgrimm@oppl.org if this does not answer your questions.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
DAVE COLVIN (not verified) - Fri, 02/10/2012 - 9:21amHow do i locate what I have checked out on interlibrary loan?!
Interlibrary Loan
Bleue J. Benton - Wed, 02/22/2012 - 9:27amInterlibrary loans (from non-SWAN libraries) are no longer checked out on SWAN. Your checked-out items can be seen in your record in our ClioWeb system. When logged in to the Interlibrary Loan and Purchase Request page, you can then click the link called "View Your Requests." It will list the interlibrary loan items you currently have checked out, as well as your complete history in this new system.
reserving a book
Laura (not verified) - Tue, 02/21/2012 - 6:19pmI tried to reserve a book to be picked up at Maze. It automatically made the pick-up at Main, and I can't figure out how to change it. This website is extremely difficult to navigate and is very frustrating.
reserving a book
lpulliam - Wed, 02/22/2012 - 9:56amHi Laura, We can change the pickup location for you. Give us a call at any location and we will reset your home library for the location you prefer. If you like to pick-up your items at Main most of the time, but occasionally would prefer Maze, we can place the hold for you and adjust the pick-up location. Unfortunately, patrons can't currently indicate a preference when placing their own holds. We hope to get this fixed, so it is easier to navigate. I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating experience. --Lori
