Block Party!

Calling all budding engineers! Use our brand new wooden unit blocks to build whatever your imagination can come up with, from zoos to skyscrapers and everything else. Block play helps kids gain important math skills like counting, shapes, weight, volume, spatial skills, grouping and sorting as well as well as improve hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills. Building also lets kids practice their storytelling and narrative skills, which are important for early literacy. No registration. All ages.

Architecture & Nature Photography Workshop

Let’s look at the details in Oak Park’s Pleasant Home (217 Home Ave.) and the surrounding gardens, with local photographer Anne Evans. Come to have fun and explore the property with your digital camera - getting close up, looking at your subject from different angles and finding points of interest in your compositions. Be prepared to take lots of photos during this hour-long session. For kids entering grades 6-8.
