Teen Read Week Debate: The Book vs. The Movie

Which was better, the book or the movie? Come prepared to argue your side at the Teen Read Week Debate! The candidates are "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," "The Hunger Games," and "The Golden Compass." Copies of the books and movies will be available for checkout at the Maze Branch Library one month prior to the event. Best for ages 13+. Battle of the Bands

Looking for a reality check on Roller Derby? Come find out about Roller Derby culture, attraction, history and evolution. Local derby players provide insight into both how to play and how to watch - including written reflection of firsthand experiences, film clips and vibrant Q&A opportunities.

Presenters include:

Erica Cuneen: Erica skates for Chicago Outfit Roller Derby league as "Busty Broke'Her #4" and is writing a book about her Derby experience.

Nicole Matos: Nicole represents Chicago Outfit, competing as "Nicomatose #DOA".
