The Oak Park Area Arts Council has asked Tieshka Smith to present her "Introduction to Grant Writing" Workshop for the public on Friday, Feb. 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Small Meeting Room.
This session is designed to provide participants with a helpful roadmap on how to plan and write competitive program or project grants. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the tools to: -Identify appropriate sources of funding support -Document community need for a proposal program -Document the important aspects of their program's design

This class is designed for 1:1 interactions between caregivers and walkers up to 24 months. One year olds love to wander and listen while they explore, and caregivers can help them participate while on the move. Short books are paired with songs and rhymes that are modeled to introduce pre-literacy skills. Limit: 20. Oak Park Public Library card required at Main Library.
This class is designed for three and four year olds, to prepare for a school environment. Children are learning how to participate in groups and engage independently, while listening to longer books and more challenging concept games. Caregivers are encouraged to attend. Limit: 30. Clients of PADS and community members are invited to a weekly writing workshop, Monday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Veterans Room of the Main Library. Library staff and people from PADS will lead the group in writing exercises to share stories and experiences. Refreshments will be served.
This class is designed for two year olds with caregiver support. Two year olds are learning how to sit, listen and interact with the storyteller, and often still need assistance from caregivers to feel successful.
