Oak Park artist Andrea Green will exhibit Nature in Black and White, patterned after the Japanese art of sumi-e, painting with ink and brush on oriental paper. A reception for the artist will be held on Sunday, April 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Library Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
Andrea Green has lived and worked in Oak Park since 2002. She started her landscape design business, Gardens By Design, in 2003. In that same year she began her exploration of sumi-e, the Japanese (and Chinese) art of ink and brush painting. Previously, she designed gardens for landscape firms and maintained a hand-weaving studio for 15 years. Andrea also serves on the board of Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory as President.
