Help save a life. Blood donations in Chicago are down 40% this January. You can donate blood Jan. 15 from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Main Library.
Heartland Blood Centers is the sole provider of blood products to Rush Oak Park Hospital, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital and more than 40 other hospitals in the Chicago metro area.
Potential donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate blood. A photo ID is required when donors come to donate blood on Jan. 15. All blood donors will also earn points to redeem online gift cards and a variety of premium gifts in the Warm Hearts Club at www.heartlandbc.org.
