Sarah Koten, an accomplished artist who lived in Oak Park for 10 years, will exhibit recent paintings in an exhibit titled " Color and Light" at the Oak Park Public Library Art Gallery Sept. 2 through 29. The exhibit is open seven days a week during regular Library hours.
A reception for Sarah Koten will be in the Art Gallery on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
Koten majored in Art History at Northwestern University and then earned a degree in textile design from The Fashion Institute of Technology. She designed textiles in New York City for 12 years prior to returning to Chicago to study painting at The Art Institute of Chicago. After living in Belgium, Koten moved to Oak Park, where she has participated in Oak Park Public Library Art Gallery as well as Oak Park Area Art Council art exhibits and events.
