Words on Wednesday: "Blue Flower"
Wednesday, April 19, 2017 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Set in 18th century Germany, this historical fiction covers the early life of Novalis, a German Romantic poet and philosospher.  Friedrich von Hardenberg or "Fritz" (aka Novalis) seeks his father's permission to marry Sophie von Kuhn, who happens to be a plain and naive girl.  His family and friends are astounded to learn about Friedrich's attachment for Sophie.  "Blue Flower" is an examination of young Fritz's life, love, and purpose.  Explore Fritz's world in this award winning masterpiece by Penelope Fitzgerald.
