Summer Reading Program
Reading is a Thrill!
Everyone will find entertaining programs, drop-in fun, and fantastic reading and viewing choices for all ages at the Library this summer. Our summer reading programs run from Saturday, June 2 through Friday, July 27, 2012.
Remember: summer reading is more than just fun--students who read over the summer improve their reading skills and avoid a "summer setback."
For Kids
For children ages 2 to 11, Reading is a Thrill! includes carnival-themed games, reading prizes, amazing entertainers, and storytimes.
4th through 6th graders can read for charity with Giving is a Thrill.
Kids going into 5th and 6th grades can apply (PDF) to join our Junior Volunteers.

For Teens
Those entering grades 6 through 12 can join the Thrill Seekers, beginning with Battle of the Bands on June 2 in Scoville Park. Then read for prizes—the grand prize is an iPad2! Plus, there will be gaming tournaments, crafting, book discussions, and more.
Teens can apply (PDF) to volunteer at the Library, too.
Online
Any Oak Parker can participate in our virtual summer reading program for a chance to win a Nook Tablet.
