Parent Workshop: Creatively Overcoming Communication Barriers

Is communication challenging for your child with special needs? Join Oak Park speech-language pathologist Dr. Jill E. Senner and our own Shelley Harris for a show and tell workshop highlighting creative adaptations for communication, especially in areas difficult for augmentative communication users, such as in the pool, garden, bed and more. Dr. Senner, founder of Technology and Language Center, Inc., has almost 20 years of experience working with with children with complex communication needs. Register beginning October 7.

Neighborhood Giving: Homelessness Workshop

Help others in your community in this special after-school service club. Kids will learn about homelessness, including whom it affects and will participate in creating warm items to help clients of West Suburban PADS. Preschool Playgroup

For children 3-5 years, with a caregiver. Hands-on and age-appropriate pre-literacy activities for you to share with your child. An OPPL card is not required.

for children 3 to 5 years, with or without a caregiver. Through longer picture books and concept games, children build important pre-reading skills in this fun and enriching session. This class builds literacy and listening skills and encourages your child to develop a love of reading to prepare for school success.
