What I do at the library: I work with the library team that selects materials for the library, and I specialize in fiction for adult readers and online tools. In both areas I act to ensure we maintain a diverse collection that enriches community experiences and helps individuals achieve their aspirations.
How I turn outward: You may see me on the second- and third-floor service desks, where I would love to hear about what you are reading. Community interactions, along with the collaborative work I do behind the scenes, help me engage with Oak Park readers and promote a reading culture within our community. On a daily basis I try to focus on how best to connect individual readers with books, striving to strengthen the community through the shared experiences of reading.
My favorite "hidden library gem": I love all the places to just "be" in the library. There are so many spaces that offer great views, surrounded by amazing materials and a really nice vibe.
Something I love about Oak Park: The people. I feel fortunate to work in the community where I live and have the opportunity to interact with amazing people on a daily basis.
What I’m reading, listening to, and watching now: I just finished watching Stranger Things, and I’m in the middle of season one of Mr. Robot. I’m currently reading The Guineveres by Sarah Domet, Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea, and Once Broken Faith by Seanan McGuire.
