What I do at the library: You’ll often find me at the Children’s Services desk at the Main Library. I am also involved in storytime at the branches!

How I turn outward: Whenever I’m interacting with kids in the library, I make sure to smile and stay engaged in the conversation. No matter how old they are, I want them to feel heard and to know that what they have to say matters to me.

My favorite "hidden library gem": I don’t know if it’s hidden, but I love the bibliographies we have in the children’s area. They are a great resource to help put the right book in the hands of the right reader. Recently, I got to compile a list called “Celebrate and Be Who You Are” that features LGBT books. The Transgender Resource Collection is also great.

Something I love about Oak Park: I love how walkable Oak Park is! Whenever it’s nice out (and even sometimes when it’s raining), I walk instead of driving.

What I’m reading: Recently I’ve been reading a lot of manga. Two of my favorite series are Nichijou and Yona of the Dawn.

What I’m watching: I watch tons of anime. The last series I finished is Yuri!!! On Ice, and I’m currently pretty obsessed with it. My other favorite anime include Wandering Son, Puella Magi Madoka MagicaFate/Zero, Code Geass, and Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun.

What I’m listening to: I’ve been listening to Hamilton almost nonstop for months. Aside from that, I listen to soundtracks from the anime that I watch.
