What I do at the library: I collaborate with staff and the community to prepare and select items that most effectively ensure that the library’s physical and digital collections in all locations resonate with the community.
How I turn outward: At the library, I am always looking for opportunities to engage and connect, whether just to smile and say hello or discuss an incredible new item in the library’s collection. Whenever possible too, I encourage dialogue about our collections since it is through these conversations that we can ensure that the library has the best collections possible.
My favorite "hidden library gem": While not hidden, my favorite library gem is the staff. Every day, I am amazed at the passion and dedication that the staff demonstrate while serving and connecting with the community.
Something I love about Oak Park: I love the creativity and diversity of Oak Park, especially with the arts. Oak Park often inspires me in so many ways.
What I’m reading, listening to, and watching now: I like many different genres, but recently I read The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House by Kate Andersen Brower. Currently, I am listening to a wide array of music, including the soundtrack of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 25 by Adele, and Call Me Irresponsible by Michael Buble, and I’m watching The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and 24.
