What I do at the library: I am a supervisor at Maze Branch.
How I turn outward in my everyday work: I try to approach my work with fresh eyes every day. I try to listen more than I talk.
My favorite "hidden library gem": My favorite "library gem" isn't actually hidden. I do believe, however, that most people may not recognize its scope. There are so many incredibly talented people who work for this library, and they share their gifts so freely.
Something I love about Oak Park: There are many things I love—Pumpkin Moon, Val's Halla Records, The Book Table, George's Family Restaurant.
What I’m reading, listening to, and watching now:
- Reading: The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism by Naomi Klein, Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals by Saul Alinsky, and The Artist's Library: A Field Guide by Laura Damon-Moore and Erinn Batykefer
- Listening to: Art Official Age by Prince, A Love Surreal by Bilal, Liquid Spirit by Gregory Porter, and The Language of Truth by Julian Joseph
- Watching: The Taste, Moyers and Company, Downton Abbey, and Alejandro González Iñárritu's 21 Grams (again)
