What I do at the library: I am the library's graphic designer. I create print and digital communications and talk with patrons and staff as I distribute and post collateral.
How I turn outward in my everyday work: I always offer a helping hand wherever I am able to do so. Since there are numerous clubs, seminars, and other events going on at the library, I strive to make sure that all promotional materials are up to date and relevant to what is going on at the Main Library and the branches.
My favorite "hidden library gem": It isn't hidden at all, but would have to be the Idea Box. I absolutely love how much thought and time goes into making the Idea Box possible; it truly is something uniquely creative that stands out right when you enter the library.
My favorite thing about Oak Park: My favorite thing about Oak Park would have to be the people. I love how sincerely welcoming individuals are as I walk through the community and how I immediately feel sincerity and togetherness when I come to work. It absolutely makes working at the library that much better when everyone greets one another with smiling faces and upbeat attitudes.
What I’m reading, listening to, and watching now: I am currently reading Eat, Pray, Love. I listen to a mix of music on my iPod, but my favorite genre is country. (I'm going to see my favorite band, Lady Antebellum, in concert this August!) At this time I'm watching The Walking Dead, Chicago PD, Secrets and Lies, How to Get Away with Murder, Modern Family, and many more!
