What I do at the library: I serve our patrons here at the Oak Park Public Library. I make sure that our patrons are receiving the resources that are available, and I point them to credible agencies that we have formed a strategic partnership with, in alignment with the library's strategic plan.
How I turn outward: I turn outward by actively contacting community agencies, people, and other organizations that can provide our patrons with services that are in demand at the library.
My favorite "hidden library gem": My favorite library hidden gem is the audiobook section. If I am taking a long journey, I can grab a book I never had time to read.
Something I love about Oak Park: I love how the Oak Park Public Library has answered the call of the community by providing safe space for our community, where we value engagement, learning, and stewardship. There has been a void in this community for a space where youth can come and get supplemental support and some youth development programming. I love the way this institution has turned outward and is presenting our effort at a solution.
What I’m reading, listening to, and watching now: What I am reading right now is The Spirit of a Man by Iyanla Vanzant. I am currently listening to Napoleon Hill's lectures. I don't watch or own a television.
