4 ways to keep summer reading fun going all year long

By Eileen Saam, Children’s Librarian

Summer reading is almost over—be sure to log your reading and activities in Beanstack by August 31—but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Here are four ways you can keep enjoying reading all year long!

1. Sign up for a library card!

With your own library card, you can check out library materials at any time on your device, including digital titles. So when you can’t come into the library, your library comes to you! See how you can use your library card to read below. Here’s what you’ll need to do to get a card »

2. Check out ebooks

Hoopla

You can find lots of ebooks on Hoopla. Stream titles immediately or when the mood strikes you! Most titles can be downloaded right to your tablet. Try Hoopla out today »

Libby

A library reading app, Libby offers a large collection of ebooks! If you don’t see a book on the shelf at the library, look for it in Libby’s collection. You can even place a hold on titles and you’ll be notified when they are ready for you! Get started with Libby »

3. Listen to digital audiobooks

You can find lots of audiobooks on Hoopla and Libby as well! Just like ebooks, you can stream titles immediately or download available titles to your device. Listen in the car, on a walk with your dog, or while doing chores around the house!
