Twenty-five local photographers of the Oak Park Photography Club will have images in an exhibit at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street, now through September 29. A reception for the photographers will be Sunday, September 9 from 3 to 5 pm in the library’s art gallery. The exhibit is open seven days a week during regular library hours. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
The local photographers include: Lee Balgemann, Alan Becker, Henry Berry, Norma Blanchard, Robert Burchill, Ken Casterline, Michael Ciccetti, Joe Cressman, Cheri Gearhart, Donal Hughes, Jim Krysan, Lynne Kuderko, Dean Oder, Nancy Ortenberg, Christine Pastor, Lisa Pearson, Debby Preiser, Thomas Regan, Barth Riley, Elizabeth Ritzman, W. Eugene Slowik, Antonia Strickland, Ernie Tiemann, Reggie Vaughn, and Donna Villa.
A great variety of subjects appear in the photographs which include color as well as black and white images. Enjoy a Native American pueblo in Taos, New Mexico, part of a brass sculpture from a museum in Philadelphia, playful children in Oak Park’s July 4th parade, and a juicy pomegranate. Many of the photographs will be for sale.
