Pie Off Returns: Baking Competition is Oct. 6

Pie Off Returns October 6, 2012

Pie Off returns this autumn as a second annual baking competition - because everybody loves pie! Local bakers are invited to present their best pie to a panel of expert judges. This all-ages event is free and open to the public.

Baker check in
Bakers should arrive at 1 pm Saturday, October 6, at the Main Library. No preregistration is required. Judges will score pies based on taste and appearance. Prizes will be awarded to the top entries.

Enjoy a taste
The public is invited to taste the entries starting at 2:30 pm.  Whether you know how to roll pastry dough or not, this will be a great event. Last year we had a baker’s dozen entries and many, many tasters. Will last year’s winners be crowned again? Or will a new batch of bakers rise to the top? Come experience the fun of Pie Off.

For inspiration, check out some books about baking pie [1].

Our events and classes are photographed or videotaped for promotional purposes. Please let us know if you prefer not to be photographed or videotaped. Your name will not be used without your written consent.

More library events, by location and topic, in our events calendar [2].
