The event is free and open to the public.

The Oak Park Writers Group will present their annual “Writers Read!” event on Thursday, November 8 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Main Library. The group includes novice writers as well as published authors. The winners of the 2012 Oak Park Writers Group high school poetry and prose competition will also read their winning selections. Christopher J. Calhoun won first place in the prose division with his short story “Peer Pressure.” Winner of the poetry division is Ian Buckley with his poem “Pants, Sweet Pants.”

Keystrokes III, the third anthology published by the Oak Park Writers Group, features original works by members of the group as well as the winning high school selections from the prose and poetry contest. It will be available for sale at “Writers Read!” Refreshments will be served.
