Join us at the Main Library as we talk about Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford on Wednesday from 1-2:30 pm in the Main Library's Second Floor Book Discussion Room.
12-year-old Chinese-American Henry Lee falls in love with a Japanese-American girl, Keiko Okabe, of his own age. They meet while theyre studying in Seattle during World War II, and are torn apart when the Okabes are shipped off to a distant internment camp. This engrossing novel deals with bullying, father-son estrangement, and the misery of the Japanese internment camps.
Copies of the book will be available at the Main Library a month before the discussion.
