Bill German Shares Stories of Traveling with the Rolling Stones October 20
Hear author Bill German tell tales of his youthful adventures with The Rolling Stones from his book, Under Their Thumb: How a Nice Boy From Brooklyn Got Mixed Up With The Rolling Stones and Lived to Tell About It. This free program, packed with photos, will be Thursday, October 20 at 7 pm at the Main Library. The Book Table will have books for sale and signing.
Under Their Thumb chronicles the ups and downs Bill German experienced with the band, how he befriended the Stones while he was so young, and how he became the band's official historian for the next two decades. German traveled the world with the Stones, stayed at their homes, and witnessed their concerts and recording sessions, as well as nasty fights. German co-authored The Works with guitarist Ron Wood, and wrote about the group for Rolling Stone and Spin.
German will bring his humorous anecdotes and never-before-seen photos to share with Oak Park fans on October 20.
