Oak Park Artist Amani Borah to Exhibit Art in February

Oak Park artist Amani Borah will exhibit his colorful artwork through the month of February at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. His show is titled "Maji Mazito" which means "strong water" in Swahili. Amani is a self-taught artist who was born in Mombasa, Kenya. An artist reception will be held on Sunday, February 5 from 3 to 5 pm in Oak Park Public Library’s Art Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
Amani creates detailed pieces with pencil, ink, markers, paint pens, and glitter. Most of the imagery in his art is inspired by symbols from his dreams, as well as his memories of home. He is a resident artist at Dancing Krow Studio/Third Friday Gallery in the Oak Park Arts District.
