Make a Request

Request a book or article [1]

Check our catalog first

  • If the item is in the SWAN catalog [2], you can usually place a hold on it. You will be notified by email when the item is available.
  • How do I place a hold in SWAN? [3]

Not in the catalog?

For items not found or not available, Oak Park Public Library cardholders can submit a request [1]. We will determine the best and fastest way to fill your request, either through interlibrary loan or by purchasing the item.

  • The first time you use this service, you will be asked to create an account
  • Learn more about interlibrary loans [4]

You can also visit another library

Oak Park Public Library cards may be used to check out materials at most other libraries in Illinois, including the SWAN libraries [5]. If the library is not a SWAN library [5], call first and be aware that registration might be required on your first visit.
