Summer Reading Program

20,000 Reads Under the Sea

Summer reading for children ages up through 13 runs Thursday, May 30 through Friday, July 26, and features motivating prizes, amazing entertainers, engaging programs, video games, crafts, and themed storytimes.

In addition to being great fun and a way to engage the entire family, research shows that students who read over the summer keep their reading skills sharp and are better prepared for school.

We'll offer a charitable reading option for 4th through 7th graders called "Dive Buddies," a volunteering opportunity for kids ages 10 through 12 [1] who are interested in being "Junior Librarians," and special read-aloud incentives for toddlers and preschoolers.

All during May, be sure visit our Main Library Idea Box [2] to come "Under the Sea." Make a seascape of your own design and join our fishbowl as Idea Box becomes a watery wonderland.

Summer storytimes [3] run from June 10 through July 20.

Learn more about "20,000 Reads Under the Sea" for teens and adults, too. [4]
