Friends Book Fair

The weekend of Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14, the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library Book Fair returns to the Main Library.

Underground garage parking (with the first two hours free) and elevator access are available.

Hours

  • Friday, 9 am-5:30 pm, open to all
  • Saturday, 9 am-4:30 pm, open to all
  • Sunday, Noon-2 pm, fair volunteers only
    • 2-4 pm, open to all
      • Local nonprofits, schoolteachers, area Little Free Library Stewards, and fair volunteers are invited to select free items.
      • Everyone is invited to fill up a grocery bag with their choice of items for just $10 a bag.

Donations

The Friends and library are not accepting donations for the annual book fair at this time.

Collections for the 2024 Annual Book Fair fair will begin on June 1 at the Main Library only.

  • Have just a few items? Stop in the Main Library Lobby Community Space to leave in the boxes provided.
  • Have a lot of items? Drive up to library’s loading dock on Saturdays, June 1 through June 29, from 9 am to 1 pm.

If you have books, movies, and music to donate now, we suggest using the new Open Books collection bin (in the alley just north of the Main Library at 834 Lake St.). Not accepted: magazines, textbooks older than five years, and general reference materials such as encyclopedias, or books in poor condition.
