Announcing our newest pop-up library location: Styles 4 Kidz, 235 Harrison St., Oak Park, IL 60304.
Pop-up libraries allow community members to use the library when they’re out and about, no library card or checkouts needed.
Styles 4 Kidz is our third pop-up library location, adding to ones installed earlier this year at the Community Recreation Center and Wonder Works. Kids and families visiting this nonprofit salon can now read library books while there for hair appointments.
“As a visionary, reading is a passion of mine because it opens up a world of possibilities,” says founder and executive director Tameka Swint (pictured above). “Styles 4 Kidz exists today because I imagined what could be, and the opportunities are endless! This pop-up library is a space for kids in our community to dream, explore, and see that they have the power to create solutions for the future they believe in.”
