Thank you for your generosity this Socktober!
To help fellow community members in need, you donated well over 200 pairs of socks, plus backpacks, toiletries, gloves, and long underwear at the library in October. The bulk of these donations will go to clients of Housing Forward.
‘Speaks to how needed we are’
Even more so this year, donations went directly to library patrons in need, both adults and kids.
“I heard kids choosing items for themselves and, without fail, they identified what they were taking for their parents too,” says Librarian Genevieve Grove. “Which speaks to how needed we are in this community.”
This was Grove’s fourth year in a row managing the annual donation drive.
“I’m so proud of our community and how much love was shown,” she said in 2018. “We are so lucky to be able to make people’s lives better in the moment, and for the future, by saying yes whenever possible.”
