Summer Reading Party With Crosstown Exotics
Friday, June 7, 4-5 pm, Main Library Veterans Room. We’re celebrating the start of summer with animal friends from Crosstown Exotics! Learn about reptiles, amphibians, snakes, bugs, and turtles, then get a chance to meet some animals up close. Best for ages 4+.
Equinox and Solstice Series: Summer
Thursday, June 20, 4-5 pm, Dole Branch. Learn more about the equinoxes and solstices, through the first this four-part series. We will be exploring where our food comes from during different seasons and cooking something amazing with Cheryl Munoz, from Sugarbeet Schoolhouse.
A Wrinkle in Time
Thursday, June 27, 7-9 pm, Main Library Storytime Room. Although he has been missing for several years and the entire town thinks her father has abandoned her family, Meg steadfastly believes the best and protects her younger brother, Charles Wallace, from the brunt of the rumors and taunting. It is he, however, who convinces her to join him, the school sports star Calvin, and three unusual women on an interplanetary voyage to rescue their father from a vast evil. (PG, 115 minutes)
Moon Landing Celebration
Saturday, July 20, 2-3 pm, Main Library Storytime Room. Fifty years ago, on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the Moon. Celebrate all things lunar with activities, crafts, and snacks.
