Memory Kits

What is a memory kit?

For people with memory loss, a Memory Kit can provide mental and emotional stimulation. The kits are designed to be used to inspire conversation and build stronger connections.

What’s included?

Memory Kits include a variety of materials—books, movies, music, tools, and more—based on a theme.

How do I check out a kit?

Memory Kits are available in the Main Library Lobby and can be checked out for up to three weeks. Only Oak Park patrons can place holds, and the kits are not able to be renewed. Kits must be returned to the service desk in the Main Library Lobby.

Memory Kits and the Oak Park Oral History Project, a new digital library initiative, were funded in part by a grant from AgeOptions.
