By Children’s Librarian Shelley Harris
Did you know that children’s staff have created more than 400 early learning videos since March 2020?! You can watch them all in a YouTube playlist and find them organized into 16 different categories on the Early Learning page—including art, en español, life skills, and supported.
To make it even easier to find what you need, we’ve created a virtual tutorial where you can explore videos by topic and discover fun, engaging content designed for early learners.

Discover video collections featuring activities, book recommendations, caregiver tips, songs, and more. You can even watch a 90-minute presentation on reading readiness with Miss Shelley. Click the play button to get started!
We’re adding more collections, but here’s what’s available now:
- Especially for Babies and Toddlers
- Fun and Learning in the Four Seasons
- Early Learning Information for Caregivers
- Guide to Reading Readiness and Early Literacy
- Learning About Ourselves and Others
- Virtual Field Trips
- Learn about the Very Ready Reading Program, a research-based literacy tool for libraries and families
- Explore Social-Emotional Learning
What kinds of video topics do you want to find more easily? Email me at shelleyh@oppl.org, and I’ll build that collection for you.
